Use of Premises

SBMC reserves the right to deny usage or cancel reservations to prioritize its own needs.

Sanctuary Beverage Policy

Only bottled water is allowed inside the main sanctuary. No other drinks (coffee, tea, soda, juice, etc.) or food/snacks are permitted.

Alcohol, Drugs, and Smoking

Alcohol, Tobacco, Kuanzaa, Khainee, and other recreational drugs are not permitted on the church property.

Responsibilities of the Renter

Renters are responsible for re-arranging and returning furniture/equipment to the original condition and ensuring the facility is clean.

Liability and Insurance

SBMC is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, illnesses, loss, theft, or damage to personal property that may occur during the use of its facilities. All individuals and organizations using the premises assume full responsibility and liability for their guests, participants, and activities. Renters must obtain liability insurance coverage in the amount of at least $1,000,000.00.

Damage to Property

Renters will be held financially responsible for any damage to the Church facilities, furnishings, or equipment that occurs during their use.

Indemnification

The renter agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Church, its staff, leadership, and members from all claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising from the renter’s use of the facility.

SBMC Playground Policy

Children must be supervised by a parent, guardian, or authorized caregiver at all times. SBMC is not responsible for any accidents resulting from use during rental events. Parents/guardians assume responsibility for their children while on church property.

Elevator Usage

The Elevator is primarily reserved for elderly individuals and those with physical disabilities or temporary mobility limitations.
